NiCHE: Network in Canadian History & Environment / Nouvelle initiative canadienne en histoire de l'environnement is sponsoring awards to Canadians or Canadianists attending the WCEH2009. Ten graduate student awards of up to $1500 will be available, as well as five awards of up to $1000 for other researchers.
To apply, email niche-admin@uwo.ca (subject line: Conference Travel Grant -- WCEH 2009) by April 20, 2008.
If you have proposed a paper for the conference, please include your 1-page cv and the submission confirmation number.
If you are not proposing a paper, please include a 1-page cv and a paragraph explaining what scholarly benefit you anticipate from attending the conference.
Preference will be given to those presenting.
Awards will be announced in summer 2008, after the conference's preliminary program has appeared.

environment (NiCHE)
NiCHE's core constituency is made up of history, geography, environmental studies, and natural science researchers, but we have also been pleased to welcome scholars from forestry, law, archival studies, kinesiology, education, and other fields. Academics from undergraduate to emeriti, from New York to New Zealand are involved in the network, as are private researchers.
